WASHINGTON D.C.: “Citing same-sex marriage bill, Washington Archdiocese ends foster-care program”

In response to a new law allowing for same-sex marriage, the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has decided to end its foster-care program in the District rather than licensing same-sex couples. The entire foster care program including, 43 children, 35 families and seven staff members, has been transferred to another provider, the National Center for Children and Families.
